It’s Corey Barker week – Day 1 : Planet Photoshop

Corey Barker - Planet Photoshop - NAPP

For as long as I can remember I have always loved designing, drawing and creating. I love graphic design, typography, logos and poster design. It’s for these reasons I love Photoshop (and Illustrator & InDesign) and my reason for joining NAPP (USE CODE NPINSPIRE FOR A GREAT DOUBLE DVD GIFT SET) was purely driven by the design resources available. I used to get Layers magazine as well Photoshop User magazine for all the design tutorials. Photography is a subject I love but it’s not something I aspire to be my main focus, it’s a tool to provide images I can use for designing. I will leave photography to the photographers and I will continue to be inspired by the world of design. And if there is one person who constantly provides amazing design inspiration it’s Mr Corey Barker – a man who if I ever see pick up a camera and stop designing I would quit NAPP!! The thing I love most about Corey is the way he is always looking for new ways to use Photoshop to create new ways of designing and also the way he reverse engineers design he has seen and creates tutorials for us NAPP members.

Having met Corey I can also confirm what a nice guy he is too, I got the chance to chat to him at the last Photoshop World and he is very passionate about his work. My aim is to get Corey to the UK to hold a Kelby Training Live Seminar for something along the lines of his Down’n'Dirty book (more about that later this week).

So I want to create a ‘Corey Barker Week’ to make everyone aware of all the collateral available to you that Corey provides and maybe inspire you to put the camera down and be a little more creative with Photoshop.

I start with Corey’s own website – www.planetphotoshop.com
Planet is full of fantastic tutorials, all free as well. In fact there are 36 pages of tutorial titles, almost 360 tutorials in total going back to 2006. There are also links to other design resources and product reviews. The site also runs a ‘Tip of the Day’ and a newsletter sign up. All in all a great site to get creative and learn some things you never thought Photoshop could do for you, plus Corey is the King of all things 3D in Photoshop.

So head over to PLANET PHOTOSHOP and check out the content.

Tomorrow – Corey on Kelby Training.
